This Little Guy Made Me Move

This Little Guy Made Me Move

I went to one of my listings on Logan Martin Lake that had closed to get the lock box and signs.  When I was there this little guy decided to run across my feet on the steps and scared me half to death.  Of course I had on sandals and most of my feet were bare.   After I gained my composure back, I went to the car and got my camera out.

Diane, An interesting little guy … and I bet you moved! It would have startled me as well … we certainly would not be expecting a creature to run across our feet. Thankfully it was not a snake!

Cute! And a great photo, too, to go with your story.

Diane, we do not have chameleons like the warmer southern states. We do have skinks which is a more colorful cousin. One of these days, I may be able to capture a photo of one...

Diane - That little critter would have stopped my heart too, if it had ran across my feet.  But, like you, I would have headed for my camera!

Hi Diane, A very good photo capture. When I was a kid, they used to sell the chameleons at the fairs. They would attach a small string and a safety pin to connect to to your clothes . It was fun having them and trying to find food for them to eat. They prefer their food to be live. Insects. As a kid we were great at finding insects. But they also have preferences on what they like to eat. If you grab them by the tail, it falls off. A way to prevent them from being caught.  :-)

Good capture and it probably would have made me jump even without sandals.

Kathleen, I am glad it wasn't a snake, we have lots of them here.

Michelle, I was surprised at how nice the picture turned out.

Michael, I moved here from Maryland and wasn't sure what these little guys were called.

Myrl, I have enjoyed playing around with my new camera but didn't want to get a subject to take a picture of this way.

Karen, the nosey neighbors sneak up on you about as quick.  LOL

William,  thanks for the information, I am not from the south and didn't know what they were.

Gene, I don't like to touch critters....

Thanks for stopping by and commenting folks.
