OK, so here I am all excited about getting started with my home staging business in the Knoxville area. I'm working hard to get my name out there, but it seems like I get more "slammed doors" than actual welcomes. Does anyone have any suggestions for new, motivated and tallented people who just want to get their foot in the door?
Join your local Realtors association, the builders association and the chamber of commerce and become an active networker.
Add your picture and profile information to ActiveRain and blog about staging. Do use the spell check feature.
Blooming for home buyers.
I think Roy ahs summed it up precisely. Network, both on online and in person and blog good content!
Good morning!
Create contacts with Realtors, architects, construction companies, interior designers etc.
Good luck!
Bonnie, welcome to Active Rain! Start with the Active Rain bloggers in Nashville. Post early and often. And hey! Put up a picture of yourself! Good luck and blog on. It does work.
There are some great suggestions above. You might also learn who is rehabbing homes. They will usually stage their homes.
Generally, what you put into it, is what you get out. But it can take some time before you make any money...
There are lots of great suggestions already made here Bonnie. You just have to keep working hard, hang in there and over time it should pay off for you.
Bonnie -- welcome to A/R! Is there a chapter for RESA or ASHSR in your area? Go online to see ... and be sure to go to a few meetings so that you meet other local stagers, who will share ideas for growing your business. Work on your A/R profile and be sure to include your Localism areas in your posts so that local consumers will see them (State, County, City, and neighborhood). Also, join the various staging groups here like Stage It Forward, Home Staging, Home Staging Before and After photos, Home Staging Successes, Staging Works, etc. A great resource for Newbies is found here ... good luck!
