Speechless Sunday - Summertime Fun

By
Real Estate Agent with McGraw Realtors

Get the shirt out of the ice!"What is he doing?" you ask?  Simple.  He's trying to get a Haynes folded up t shirt out of a frozen ziplock 1 gallon bag.

Why?  For the fun of it!

We did this summertime fun activity with the kids at our church the other night because it makes a great summer activity.  The goal is to be the first team to get the shirt unfrozen, unfolded and on one of the team members.

It is harder than it looks!  The frozen ice from the ziplock bags locks the shirts into an ice square that is freezing cold to the touch.

The rules are:  You can only use your hands and the ground.  No pavement allowed.  No hitting fence posts, no dipping in water, etc.

It took our kids about 20 minutes to get the shirts melted, unfolded and on someone.  They had a blast!

That sounds like a ton of fun. I take it the t-shirts are water-soaked before freezing. I know that sounds like a stupid question, but do you remember the WKRP in Cincinnati episode where they threw the frozen turkey out of a helicopter?

Bob,

What a great idea to keep the kids busy. Great photo too. Of course, you know I'm just going to have to put one of my tshirts in the freezer now.

In our heat, it would have probably taken less than 20 minutes.  This sounds like fun.  I think I'll suggest it to our church youth group.

What a fun idea! Did anyone tear the shirt?

When this warm-climate California girl lived in Missouri for a while, I laughed when my clothes froze while drying on a clothesline; I remember running to the door of our motorhome with my frozen stiff garment and my roommate looking in alarm shouting 'stop--you'll break it." I thought that was uproariously funny!
