Do You Need an Octopus to Pick How Much You Offer on a HUD House?
Did you hear about Paul the Octopus correctly predicting World Cup Soccer results?
This is not a joke! Paul the Octopus is an animal oracle, a common octopus that lives in an aquarium in Oberhausen, Germany. Paul became world famous by correctly predicting the results of soccer matches.
So far, his betting record at the FIFA World Cup in South Africa is 100%. That's incredible! In his latest selection he picked Spain as the World Cup Champion - we'll see what happens this afternoon. The game starts at 2:30 pm ET. I'll keep an eye on it!
This begs the question, if we need a "Paul" to predict how low HUD will go when selling their homes.
You don't need an Oracle to determine what offers HUD will accept!
In the Bargain Hunter email and related HUD Homes post last Wednesday I suggested that $99,000 would be a perfectly acceptable offer for the HUD house on Oxford Drive in Pataskala. On July 9, 2010, this house went in contract for $99,500!
How's that for being predictable?
If you are the winning bidder, please write a short comment beneath this blog post or send me an email. I am really proud that I predicted this price correctly, and I am glad you got your contract accepted.
