My sister Becca recently returned from Haiti where she was a volunteer RN with the Canadian Medical Assistance Team (CMAT):

Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp situated at the Petionville Country Club, near Port au Prince, Haiti. This camp houses 50,000 - 60,000 people displaced by the January 12 earthquake
My sister, along with 2 physicians and 4 nurses were there for 2 weeks as part of the CMAT organization. She said the experience has changed her forever. Some horrific stories, but some happy ones too. She commented that the children and adults really need shoes, especially now with the rainy season upon them.
CMAT, in collaboration with International Medical Assistance Team (IMAT) and the JP HRO (Jenkins Penn Haiti Relief Organization) have been working in the earthquake-affected region for just over 6 months now.
