It's time once again for Lewiston's annual Hot August Nights!! (phew, and boy has it been hot this year)
Thursday August 23rd through the 25th are the dates to remember if you are a car buff, or a music fan. Things kick of with a show and shine at Rogers Motors at 3pm. The show is open to hot rods, and motorcycles, and a trophy for best in show in each class will be awarded.
7pm Friday the cruise will begin, you must be registered to participate. There will be plenty of time to register when you get here. If music is your thing..then beginning at 6 is an outdoor concert at Lewistons historic Pioneer Park. This year we get to listen to Richard Marx, and Greg Rollie, former lead singer from Journey and Santana.
Saturday breakfast is being served by the Boy Scouts in Brackenbury Square from 6am to 10am. From 7am to 10, final registration for the show and shine at NORCO, on 9th and main. Parking begins at 7am. Main street will be blocked off.
1pm, the local Boys and Girls club will have their annual "keep the ball rolling" contest. For a donation, you can purchase a ball that will be dumped via truck at the top of 5th street grade, and the first balls to make it to the bottom will win great prizes from local merchants. All the proceeds go to benefit the local Boys and Girls club.
From 3 to 4pm, trophies will be awarded for the best of the best in the car show, and then the day wraps up with another outdoor concert at Pioneer park at 5:00. Saturday nights show is Eric Burdon and the Animals.
This is one of the highlights of the year for many in the area, I hope to see you on the streets--please stop me and say "hi"...
