Kauai, Hawaii-Home Sales Statistics
The number of sales of single famiy homes on the island of Kauai increased 70% in the first half of 2010 as compared to the first half of 2009. However, the median sales prices declined another 2%.
The home sales in the first half of 2010 showed quite a diversity. The least expensive home sold for $180,000 and is located on the south shore. It was an REO property on a nicely elevated lot with views of wooded area. Most of interior of the home was beyond repair but the remaining studs and some of the walls provided a start to build a fabulous home.
The most expensive property sold for $5,000,000 and is located in Aliomanu Estates. The home is situated on over 4.5 acres and was designed by a well-known Kauai architectural designer, Gary Tobey. It blends a Polynesian exterior with an Asian/Island interior exquisitely.
