Charleston, South Carolina has again ranked on the Travel+Leisure magazine list of favorite cities in the United State and Canada. For the two previous years we were at number 4 but now....drum role please...we are at number 3. The only cities that beat us are New York and San Francisco. Travel+Leisure readers participate in the survey and determine the winners. Cities are ranked based on sights, culture and arts, restaurants and food, people, shopping and value.
What makes Charleston, South Carolina number 1 on my list? The beach of course. Where else can you have all the things Travel+Leisure expects and sand and shore too? Not in New York or San Francisco. Enjoy a day on a public beach followed by great food and fun just down the street on Sullivans Island or Isle of Palms, South Carolina. Throw in some ice cream at Ben and Jerrys on Isle of Palms and you have perfection in my book.
