Relax! Its only BUSINESS....!

By
Home Stager with Capital Style Home Staging

Maybe its a sign of a self destructive nature, or maybe I'm just wound too tight.  Or maybe this is the way the Universe works.

When I am busy and don't need more business, more business comes my way.  When I want or need that "one cool piece of business", or "that awesome Realtor", the number's aren't always that good.

My theory is that when we're not in great need, or are confidently successful, we actually attract the business.  When we really need to make some money, our desperation must come through, making us less attractive to the buyer.

Interestingly, I found this to also be true when I was dating in college.  If I was reallyreallyreally interested in a guy, he wasn't so in to me.  When I didn't care about attracting a specific person, relaxed and had a good time, THAT'S when I met my boyfriends!

Know what I mean?

Cheers to you all!

Right on,

When you stop and think about your busiest times - this is so true.  A sales trainer I knew once said,
" buyers and sellers can tell you are hungry or desperate, they can smell desperation and will run the other way."

A great read that has really helped me is "ATTRACTING PERFECT CUSTOMERS" by Stacey Hall and Jan Brogniez

excellent point and yes this is true in any business. Everyone wants to work with the people who seem the busiest but not with someone who seems desparate.

Debbie:  Thanks for the book suggestion.  There's great stuff out there, but who can read it all?  I appreciate your insight in helping me spend my reading time wisely.

Karen:  Go for it!  Just be relaxed in your delivery, keep your shoulders down, and pretend you don't care whether or not you get the business.  Wish you were closer so we could partner on projects!

Rebecca and Charles:  We're like spirits!  Thanks for visiting!!

Yep Jaynee, its an energy projection.  When your energy is positive, positive things come your way.  The same goes for negative energy.  So, even when times are tough we need to make sure we keep positive energy flowing!

I don't need to work as I am independently wealthy , at least that is what I tell telemarketers when they want me to refinance or something like that.

Confidence , knowledge and a love for what we do- that should do the trick.

Jaynee, sounds a lot like the "Secret"  I have been listening to the secret on cds and it says we attract what we think.  So glad that you are busy and enjoying life.  You got get them.

;) yeah this does remind me of the secret as well. i think our internal attitude can come through our persona even if we don't realize it. if we are in a negative state of mind, sometimes we don't even realize it but others feel it and they just don't say anything. energy is an interesting thing, isn't it?

cheers,

cindy

Hey Jaynee - That is totally correct.  Clients can smell desperation on you, and it is not attractive to them.

By the way, you commented on one of my posts (about the old business card photos) and somehow the comments were deleted, but I didn't do it.  Did you delete them?

Jaynee

If you act busy the business will come too you but, you must give it your all anyway. Many times when Realtors tell me the business is bad I tell them you are right and then walkout of the room I don't need them bringing me down. Plus if they start to believe it themselves in a week or two I'll have less competition.

Jaynee - You are very insightful, and absolutely correct.  I'm interested in the laws of attraction, but often times get bogged back down in the negativity.  At a time when deals are dying left and right, it probably is best to stay the course and don't show people that times are tough.  Great advice.

Jaynee, This is so interesting. I have just been reading some marketing advice material and one of the things brought up is to market, market, market when we are the busiest. Hard to do but it makes sense. We will be wearing the "I'm busy" sign on our forheads.

Ain't it though?  Just one more irony of life, but it sure helps me trust the Universe when all indicators are that I shouldn't!
