This morning's headline in the Benton County Daily Record: "Experts: Buyers Benefit."
Median home prices in Benton and Washington counties in Northwest Arkansas are at a 7 year low. What a great time to buy a home! Ok, interest rates are at an all-time low and home prices have dipped, so it's easy to see that purchasing a home makes sense.
But what if you are a seller?
Well, that depends on many things. If you have equity in your home, if you are buying somewhere else, if you have your relocation expenses subsidized, and if you take care in home staging and presentation, you are still in a good position to sell!
After several years in real estate sales I'm convinced that more sellers leave money behind by poor home presentation than almost anything else. Agents, home stagers, and sellers all working together can add $10,000 in value just through appearance (outside and inside). And so many of these efforts to add appeal are nothing more than elbow grease and consistency from showing to showing!
