It’s supposed to hit 94 in Livermore, CA today. I’m holding a home open, its first Sunday on the market. Will there be visitors? I’m counting on it. Here’s my rationale. The temperatures reached the 100s earlier this week, so today will feel cool by comparison.
The Broker’s Open had a great agent turnout, and 4 different agents said they’re returning with clients on Sunday. We’ve had showings already and those folks came while it was very, very hot.
7 Reasons I’m Optimistic.
1) Those who are out searching in the heat, are apt to be more than Looky Lou’s. They’ve got limited time to tour homes, and perhaps a desired move-in date spurring them on.
2) The house will be air conditioned, so a nice respite from the outside air. They may hang out a little longer and see the many desirable aspects of the home.
3) I’ll have cool drinks and homemade chocolate cookies for them to snack on, while they hopefully engage in conversation. I expect that there will be curious neighbor-visitors too, and I look forward to meeting them in my farm area.
4) I’m holding the house open with a lender partner. Even if no one came today, I know it will be a chance for us to share ideas and information, so a learning and creativity opportunity.
5) The house has a fabulous pool in the backyard, which will look more than inviting to a prospective buyer on a day like today.
6) The house itself shows exceptionally well, is one of the best in terms of curb appeal and has been priced very competitively.
7) And finally, it’s my job to sell this house quickly. Why wouldn’t I want the chance for people to easily come and see it its first week on the market?
