Closings in the city of Bellevue was up 29% from 2009 with the average price up 16% from $727,808 in 2009 to $843,596 in June, 2010.  Year to Date closings was a total of 559 the first half of 2010 compared to 326 in the first half of 2009.  That is a difference of 71%!  So, the desirability of living in Bellevue is reflected by these figures.

I know that if I had a choice to move, I probably won't.  I know the values have dropped and I can't refinance and don't qualify for a loan modification but I know if I stick it out, the values will start stabilizing and as long as we keep upgrading our house to our liking we'll come out okay.

That's a good increase in activity, did the tax credits fuel any of these sales?  Your prices are so high compared to ours, when your price goes up 16% that's a pretty significant rise!

I think you're right there with most of my friends and family, the home we're in suits us just fine and we don't feel a need to up and move right now.

I believe a lot of the sales are from owners who have held out at the $1M+ prices for the past year and have finally dropped to below the $1M mark as well as the starter homes dropping down below the $3K mark.  The desireablility to live in one of the nation's top rated school districts has fueled the activities.
