Sometimes when I'm in a Board of Alderman meeting here in Carl Junction it seems that we've likely done the best we could when all sides of an issue leave mad because we didn't do things the way they wanted. This whole week has been kind of that way.
I posted what I thought was an interesting cartoon from 1948 a couple of days or so back that got me called basically stupid because my grammar and spelling wasn't correct and I showed my belief in God. I was attacked vehemently by one person in particular for being as conservative as I am. That person appeared to have the idea that all evil in the world has been perpetrated by conservatives and how dare we force our will on her.
At the same time in another venue I was being portrayed as a pretend conservative because I took a position on tax credits for Ford Motor Company in St. Louis that said we should look at what's best for the State of Missouri rather than criticizing and opposing the tax credits just because a democrat governor had the idea and the jobs being saved were primarily union jobs.
What an interesting way to wrap up the week. I can't make anyone happy, accept me of course as I do believe in God and I am conservative in my beliefs and I do believe we should actually do what's best for the state and the country, regardless of where an idea comes from rather that continuing to play politics.
So anyone with an issue from me on either side. Get over it, today starts a whole new week and I have a Board of Alderman meeting on Tuesday evening.
