That has HOW MUCH Caffeine? An easy guide to your morning drug of choice.

So are you addicted to energy drinks?  Coffee?  Diet Coke?

Here's the surprising caffeine facts for some of the most popular pick-me-ups, along with the old college stand by.

How Much Caffiene in Drinks

Just for fun, included a comparison to NoDoz and even Excedrin - did you know Excedrin has as much caffeine as almost 3 cans of Diet Coke?

According to this chart, most of the Starbucks Frappaccino buzz is coming from the sugar, unless you order a double!  Otherwise, you're better off with coffee from the pot at the office.  Depending on how much buzz you actually wanted, that is.

The FDA's official caffeine limit for cola and pepper soft drinks is 71 mg per serving.

A Monster Energy Drink has only a little more caffeine than an average 8 oz cup of black coffee, and the same as an 8 oz cup of brewed Starbucks coffee.  Of course there are lots of "other" things in Monster too, like an "energy blend".

Diet Coke packs 30% more punch than Diet Pepsi.

It tastes better too.

Oh wait, that was just my opinion - no official stats on that one!

It takes almost 6 cans of Diet Coke to equal the caffeine in an average 16 oz cup of coffee.

This information came from the Center for Science for the Public Interest, from a 2007 survey

OK Penny, just finishing my first cup.  After this reply, off for my second cup.  Will repeat this all day!  Caffeine is my drug of choice.

Wow, and I thought Mountain Dew was bad for the caffeine! I'll take a Starbucks Frappuccino and a Hershey's chocolate bar to go  :)

I was surprised at the amounts in some of these drinks.  It's also interesting that Starbucks has more caffiene than "regular" coffee.  Better quality beans?
