Do You Hire the Realtor or the Company?

By
Real Estate Agent with Dilbeck Real Estate Real Living DRE#01091347

Yesterday I had a someone tell me that it didn't matter what real estate company I worked for, it matters what efforts I'll do for him or her to get their home sold. What do YOU think? Does the reputation of the real estate company or the reputation and representation from the Realtor matter more?

I think that buyers hire us first and then the real estate company next. But being with a well regarded company is important too. it is one of those "it depends" answers.

Oh it can be the combination. You want to show you come from a strong, reliable company that supports it's agents. And then you need to show how you as an individual can sell that home.  It is 70% you , 30% company in my opinion if you are with a big group.

Linda, Kudos on a great question. This one is much discussed and never answered. I say they hire the AGENT! I like Lise and Stans answers above in fact.

I think being from a strong company can lend credibility to the agent.  However, if it is a referral then I think people rarely even question what company you work for.
