I am working on a website and looking for ideas as to what has worked for my Active Rain folks. I have your basic info, but as you guys have figured out, I kinda beat a different drum. I don't like just average website that everyone else has. Being I have a different name and like to express my personality, I really need some ideas. I have basic about me, MLS info, tools etc. Now just need some cool and fun stuff.....so I ask for it...bring on the ideas.
I'm a creative person and follow a different drum too, and I'm sure my advice will differ from others. I just know that the sites I view I really enjoy the ones where the agent lets their personality shine through, so that's what I advise for you.
Of course you want to make sure that what the potential client wants is right at the top of the page, like home search and market value, but other than that, your best ideas just might come when you're not actively thinking about it.
I realize you are probably looking for more specific advice and ideas, but I hope this helps anyway.
Well, re-reading your question I responded by basically saying the same answer as your question! LOL So I will get more specific....
I know of an agent who has a really cool website where when you read it, it as if she is "talking" to you herself. I can't say who it is because there is a disclaimer on her site not to take her ideas, but that is the main gist of it. She's an extremely successful agent.
Tinker I would browse around agent websites, like even those on Active Rain for ideas, and the ones you like contact that agent...
I, Tinker, go to another agent's website sometimes for the menus from the restaurants. I can then order and pick up.

Hi Tinker, don't know what you did about a website, but I'm thinking about going to a Wordpress.org blog. Wish I had 1/2 the $ I've spent and all the time back I have spent on websites.
