METAL DETECTORS...What's Your TAKE on these?

By
Real Estate Agent with NextHome Mountain Realty

We used to sell 60% Land. The banks have changed that but when we do sell land in summer (everything is greener and plush) it gets tricky to walk the hills and valleys of the Blue Ridge Mountains looking for corners.

Recently we showed a property to a fellow who planned to buy for his family, and could we not find hide nor hair of any poles pins stakes, etc. Turned out that he was a surveyor and said he'd be happy to come back and find them with his trusty metal detector. He said he couldn't live without it!

He ended up buying another property so I sort of forgot about the metal detector conversation until lately.

My questions to all of you are:

Do you have a metal detector that helps you find boundaries?

If so, what kind is it?

AND

How much did it cost?

I have seen handhelds from $49, to under sea detectors (I know ...hopefully we will never have to use one of these) for upwards of $3,000.

So with all the choices, I'd love actual recommendations from Realtors who actually have one and love theirs!

Thanks for your time.

Judy

Now there's a real estate tool I never thought of!  But I guess if you're rural enough, it makes sense! Sorry I have no solutions for you--the the title of your blog post caught my eye and I had to see what it was all about.
