Riverside Sheriff's Department announced Wednesday, July 21st that the body found in a field around Theodore Street and Dracaea Avenue, in Moreno Valley has been confirmed by dental records as 17-year-old Norma Lopez, who went missing July 15th after her summer school class let out at noon and she proceeded to walk to a friend's house alone.

The investigation has now shifted gears from a missing person case, and will now be investigated as a homicide. Police are still looking for a green sport utility vehicle speeding away from the area where she went missing at the time of her disappearance.

There is a $35,000 reward being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for killing the girl. Wells Fargo has also set up an account for anyone who would like to walk into a local branch and donate money to go towards the reward. What a tragedy for the young woman and her family. I do not know how much good it will do on the east coast but I will re-blog.

How tragic.   Sadly this is why I am so glad I do not have daughters.

A.  I would spoil them as I can not say no to girls and that does not benefit the girls

B. they are so likely to be sexually assaulted/murdered/etc....

I hate that I have to live in a world where animals that could do this.   I hope the family is better able to cope with this horror than me, as I know it would destroy me.  I do not think I could recover from such a tragedy.  I have had to deal with a lot of trauma's but that one is beyond my capacity.

Condolences to the Lopez Family, a beautiful soul was taken way too soon

Daniel - I'm with you on this one. I don't think I could survive this kind of tragedy. My family, and especially my children, are not just everything, they're the only thing to me that matters in the end.

By the way, Norma Lopez's killer is still at large. Reblog this post and get the word out for Norma and her family.
