Riverside Sheriff's Department announced Wednesday, July 21st that the body found in a field around Theodore Street and Dracaea Avenue, in Moreno Valley has been confirmed by dental records as 17-year-old Norma Lopez, who went missing July 15th after her summer school class let out at noon and she proceeded to walk to a friend's house alone.
The investigation has now shifted gears from a missing person case, and will now be investigated as a homicide. Police are still looking for a green sport utility vehicle speeding away from the area where she went missing at the time of her disappearance.
There is a $35,000 reward being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for killing the girl. Wells Fargo has also set up an account for anyone who would like to walk into a local branch and donate money to go towards the reward. Just mention you'd like to donate towards the Norma Lopez Reward Account.
