Ever just smile to yourself and think "I love my chosen career path"?
Each day provides me with an opportunity to assist someone in making a good decision about where they live.
Today wasn't any particularly special or particularly stressful day. It had its good points and its low points. It was a day however, that made me smile when I finally had answered all the calls, responded to all the emails, made all the appointments for tomorrow, scanned all the paperwork to the appropriate people, looked up answers to the unanswered questions, and did a prestart of paperwork for tomorrow.
Somehow my thoughts turned to all the people I had spoken with today and all the people I've met recently and the thoughts just seemed to go on to people I've helped in the past. I started wondering if Angel got her walls up in her family room. Were Whim's tomato plants surviving this heat? How were Bob and Jamie doing after their relocation? Bet I wouldn't recognize Pat's girls anymore, they surely have grown into young women by now. Did Ed get his new roof yet? So many people with not enough time to contact them all regularly. Yet I think about them.
I meet people that come in all shapes and sizes from all walks of life. Each one having their own story, each having a different need in real estate. This electic bunch has brought so much to my life. I've learned of far away places and customs. I've watched singles grow into couples and couples into families. I've witnessed the excitement of being a new homeowner and the sorrow of a family selling Mom and Dad's home.
I've worked with saavy investors, naive first time buyers, relocating families, folks down on their luck having to sell their homes. The experiences have been many. I have laughed with these people, I have cried with these people. They have become like family to me.
Sometimes it is a very stressful job but always satisfying. I couldn't be more pleased with the path I've chosen. Not everyone can say they genuinely love their job...I can without reservation. What makes it so very satisfying is all the wonderful people, young and old, established and struggling, professionals and blue collar workers, each bringing a part...giving a part of themselves that has enriched my life.
Thank you to all of them for touching my life, making me feel a special part of theirs. Bless you to all of my past clients and all the future friends I have yet to meet. I love my job!
