New Hampshire Farmer's Market

What's in Season?

New Hampshire, the "Live Free or Die" state boasts over 75 farmer's markets throughout the state.

I love the idea of buying and eating locally.  The fruits and vegetables are fresh and the fragrance of the flowers is delicious.

Buying locally at a New Hampshire Farmer's Market also supports our local farmers and helps grow the New Hampshire economy.

You can locate a farmer's market and discover what is in season at the NH Farmer's Market Association website.

Don't these fruits, vegetables and flowers look inviting?   Stop by a local Farmer's Market and enjoy the bounty  of the season!

Janice -- thanks for commenting on the photo.. I enjoy all the fresh produce.  Yummy!

George ~  The only thing I can find bad about farmer's markets is when you can't get to one of them and then you have to buy the fruits and veggies in the store... it's simply not the same!

Kat ~ I am sure that there are a lot of farmer's markets at Lake Arrowhead!  Nothing like California grown!

Renee ~  Glad you enjoyed the slide show.  They are a lot of fun to make!

Joan, New Hampshire seems to have the market cornered when it comes to Farmers Markets. We have a couple of really good ones down here. I am always surprised at the different growing times, when we are done with say strawberries you guys are just getting started.

Great list, Joan.  Next time, travel out towards Keene!  Keene Farmer's Market is every Tuesday and Saturday just behind the Colonial Theater on Main Street.

I love being able to get interesting and delicious things that I can't or don't have space to grow myself.  Plus, it's a great place to run into friends and neighbors!

David ~  We have had a strange growing seasons.  With all of the warm weather everything is at least 2 weeks ahead of schedule.  Now they are saying the pumpkins will be ready for Labor Day!  I guess I'll have to get the costume out early!  LOL

Kim ~  I am definately overdue for a visit to Keene.  I'll have to check out the farmer's market there... and we can meet in person.

Bill~  I love to shop at the farmer's markets.  Nashua just extended their hours to make it easier for people to get to the market after work.

There are six farmers' markets within five miles of me, and the good thing is that they all are on different days, so if I forget one day, I have four more days to shop.
