My best friend Scott has a beautiful home up on Pend Orielle Lake at Bottle Bay and loves to have his friends come up and work.  Ha ha...keeping a lake house is a lot of work so everyone up there usually pitches in, but after the chores are done he likes to go boating and often we go into Sandpoint for coffee or maybe a meal at Ivano's Italian Rest., or a beer at Eichardt's pub featuring Charlie Packard guitar and vocals on Wednesday evenings.  I wanted to post a few pictures from my stay up there last week:

Great picture of my friend Scott

Here's the marina at Hope where we go a lot to the Floating Restaurant for appetizers and the best huckleberry daiquiris on the lake!

Ask for Tina, and she'll put a Rum floater on it for ya!  There's a "beyond Hope, Idaho" also, but that's a whole other blog!  LOL

The most fabulous tasting treat all Summer at the lake!

I just had to get a picture of this dog on the back of the boat as we were leaving.  It reminds me so much of our dog Ginger we had when I was a kid at my dad's lake house in Wedowee Alabama.  Ginger loved boating, and would even go on the jet ski as well as the inner tube behind the boat.  Ginger was a golden lab also.  Scott has a black lab about a year old and he loves the water also...I think labs and the lake are like frosting and cake.  Some things just go together!

Here's a particularly gorgeous view that never seems to loose its attraction no matter how many times you see it.  The view is towards the Monarchs (mountains in the background) the depth of the lake out in this are is more than 1,000 feet in places!

Looking back on the way in to Sandpoint:

The water is unbelievably clean, but also very cold!  It can get rough out in the middle, and many accidents have occurred out on this lake.  Boaters are advised to take all precautions and never misjudge that lake.  Make sure you always have the proper emergency supplies handy just in case, and never assume the weather will always stay nice because mountain thunder storms have been known to pop up out of the blue and the lake can get rough very quickly!
