Friday's Fearless Foto: Wrong Way Joe

When you think about how vast the ocean is and how incredibly tiny these guys are, it truly boggles the mind. If the were like humans and knew the odds, they would probably stay on dry land and say "NO WAY!" As a result the species would have died out a long time ago. . . . . But being turtles (Loggerheads to be precise) they don't know the odds, are therefore blissful in their ignorance and so their species continues.

This little guy, who earned the nickname Wrong Way Joe, washed back in 15 times! He gamely kept trying to get out to sea, only to be washed back yet again. Finally the conservation people in charge had pity on him and let me carry him farther out into the surf where he promptly started swimming to shore. Silly turtle! It took me another two tries, but he finally went his way out to sea.

Lesson to be learned: Sometimes it's better to forget the odds and just dive right in, just make sure you are headed the right way!

Be fearless and you will go far!

Myrl - LOL! I would not doubt that for a second! ;)

Bill - Thanks! I hope that the wedding goes well this weekend. ;)

Terry - *giggle* I actually know a lot of people like that too, but most of them are just so sweet that you smile and keep helping them out anyway. I hope your weekend is fantastic too!

Ty - Thank you Ty! Another quote I love is:

Fail not for sorrow, falter not for sin, But onward, upward, till the goal ye win.

Michael - ROFL!!! I'm hopeless, even with a Garmin, so I can empathize with him. ;)

Slow and steady will win the race. Kind of reminds me about real estate. Keep on tryin.

You know I am not sure if I like the lesson better or the picture of the turtle, or his clever nickname.  I guess after careful consideration it must be a combination of all three!

Robert - Slow was right! These little guys were over a month late hatching out and were the silliest bunch of little turtles ever. All of them kept going though. . . It's something that I try to remember when life gets tough. ;)

Phly,

The wedding went well, but could have lived without the mid 90s heat for the reception.  Outdoor tent and big fans, but yikes it was bloomin' hot!  The drive home today inspired tonight's post.  Hope you enjoy!
