I'm pretty sure I'm one of the few people who enjoys getting junk mail.
There is, however, a method to my madness.
Much of my junk mail is advertising.
One piece that arrived today really has me wondering:
I thought the advertisement was cute and effective, but I have to wonder about the statement that one in fifty Californians are real estate agents. Hmmm.
The 2009 estimated population for California is 36,961,664. If one in 50, or two percent, are real estate agents, that's 739,233 people. San Diego County has about 24,000 people who participate in the MLS, not all of them real estate agents.
California has 58 counties, and 15 of those counties rank in the top 100 most populous counties in the United States. Los Angeles County is #1, San Diego County is #5, and Orange County is #6.
I'm pretty sure Los Angeles and Orange Counties have at least as many real estate agents as San Diego County, but regardless of how I look at this, I'm just not able to get to 739,223 real estate agents in California.
Anyone from other California counties know what their real estate agent population is? How about other states?
If there are 739,223 real estate agents in California, ActiveRain has some work to do because we're only got 14,654 of them here as members.
