Living in a Topsy Turvy World...
We certainly live in strange times. Bad is good, good is bad and the straight and narrow has become a 6 lane super slab. It is times like this that vex one's soul.
We live in an age where men, looking for answers turn to the wonders of technology instead of looking towards the wonders of the Universe. As if faster, better computers and technology have the answers to the problems needed to sooth the wounds and toubles of the soul. No, the answers lie deep within.
We were born with inalienable rights; we were also born with the laws of the Universe etched upon our hearts. The right to discern right from wrong, good from evil. Sadly, men hearts have been seared with red-hot irons. Irons of hatred, rage and bigotry have left mens hearts calloused.
Where will it all end? Hell, I don't know, I'm nothing more than a mere mortal living in this topsy-turvy world. I'm still trying to make sense out of why my upright tomatoes are doing better than the ones growing upside down. Maybe, I have upset the natural order of their universe and turned it upside down. Maybe, just maybe, the natural order of our Universe is upset by this upside down way of thinking as well...

Michael, things are crazy, but watching nature at work helps sooth. Liz and I are fortunate enough to have the advantages of technology, but the blessing of God's nature all around our home. Hummingbirds, chipmunks, baby racoons, butterflies and everything else that comes with being surrounded by the woods. It rights some of the crookedness!
I think the phrase "put down roots" was uttered for a reason. If I were a tomato I wouldn't want to be hanging upside down with my roots pointed towards the sky :-)
I know that my topsy turvies are not doing as well as I had hoped....bummer!
Liz and Bill, Yes, I do find solace in the wonders of nature. If you have seen any of my photography, you can tell...
Cindy, I agree, Next year, I will deep six the hanging pots...
Michael...
Put some clothes on, and for gawd's sakes, stop waxing your chest :)
TLW...ROAR!
Okay...
I hold the answers in the palm of my hand. So does every else. They just haven't figured that out yet. Looking to world for answers is not always the best way forward. The world can only give us so much. After that, we really need to look around us and within ourselves. Shhhh. It's a secret :)
TLW...ROAR!
Michael- it is a Topsy Turvy world where coomon sense and "please" and "thank you" have been packed away in an old trunk, My proof is that my Topsy Turvey pecorino peppers that are growing upside down are far out producing the right-side up ones. Oh, yes, and the person who gave them to me said they were tomatoes!
Well said Michael. BTW we tried those topsy turvey thingys just like you to no avail.
TLW, I put clothes on to take that shot. You should have seen the before pictures. And, yes, we do have to look around and within...
Kathy, I think they have too...
Al & Peggy, I will deep six these at the end of the growing season. Another novelty that doesn't work...
Michael...
I think that the "natural order of things" is the key talking point here. Don't upset that apple cart my friend.
Michael, I remember a Christian song called "living life upside down" I think by New Song. I don't have it any longer as I no longer have a cassette player but your post reminded me of that song.
Hmmm ... that may be the reason why I witnessed a pineapple upside down cake become a pineapple downside up cake at a pot luck today. Nice to see you are getting a face tan :)
Michael.....I have an upside down tomato plant and it's loaded with cherry tomatoes.....no weeds....no animals eating it....easy to water and fertilize!!! upside down works well for me, I guess.
I have no tomatoes this year, upside down, right side up, or sideways. But, I do prefer the natural world to the synthetic. But perhaps this will help understand the Order of the Universe.
You know that things are upside down when you look at the flowers in my garden and they almost look as good as the fake ones that are sold at the store!
