FREE Jazz Concert at Eastlake Park

The free jazz concerts in the park began on th 4th of July this year.  It was the first of a series of free jazz concerts in our local area parks.  Attendance at each concert has been getting bigger and better.  But by far, the turn out at East Lake Park is likely to be the largest turnout of the season.

The anticipated crowd will probably include attendees from all of other concerts and some new comers.  It's go in to be an exciting day.

Concert series wraps up August 1 at the all new Railroad Park.

I love jazz too --- would be fun.    There was a jazz fest in Denver a couple of weeks ago on a Saturday - was really fun!

Michelle the concerts have been pretty nice

Barbara lately it's been 100 degrees in the shade

Joan I've been reading a lot about free jazz concerts this summer right her on AR.  It's a cool idea that has spread across the country

That's one of the best parts of summer, the free outdoor concerts and the outside family movie nights, one good thing coming out of this bad economy is the many communities coming together

That's right Gerry.  It's a refreshing break and change from the demands of everyday life.

Paula I got so caught up today in other things that I didn't make the concert, but I'm sure some of my family attended.

Endre' when I moved to Birmingham in 1982, it was hard to find really good jazz stations.  Being from Detroit, I was used to listening to WJAZZ which has some of the best contemporary, classic and big band sounds.  So I've just relied on my CD collection, but it's time for me to update the collection.  The scroll:  I got that idea from somebody on AR.  Can't remember who.  I think it was Rich Gutenberg.
