Politics --- the Subject that should remain QUIET?

I read the "rules" for here on AR, and we are to stay away from religion and politics, so, just a quick poll. Could we just have commercials identifying what thes candidate's platform is, and what that candidate wants to relay to us? How many of you would vote for this suggestion?

There was a commercial on recently on a candidate, that I had not ever heard of, and the first commercial was not about what THEY thought stood for, it was a commercial bashing their opponent. It is quite a shame we could not pass a new bill that prohibits bashing, just stand up for what you want us know!

With all these commercials bashing -- I have once again found that "ignore button" otherwise known as MUTE, and do not have to listen. The calls have already started on my cell also. It is amazing the NO CALL list does not apply to policitians soliciting.

Not all of us stay away from religion and politics... on ActiveRain... only the smart ones. And even with that there is some good to be said about both. I have not seen local political commercials here yet.

Maureen, I knew I sort of was on the edge --- was not venturing on either side of the spectrum, just an opinion. You are lucky you have no commrcials yet. They plentiful here already!

With 2 years for the Presidential election, the train has begun pouring politicians into NH. I love hearing about what they can do but whether local or national, i hate those negative ads, it will make me hit the channel change button every time.

Hi Joan, We do have plenty of them and 100 more days to go! It's too bad that they spend all that money and in the end, we still don't know where they stand. I'm with you, bashing should be prohibited, but then most politicians would not call it bashing but only setting the record straight :-)

Joan, Most of them don't STAND for anything! It's whatever their party tells them to stand for today.

REALLY glad today is primary day, and MAYBE those negative ads will stop, or at least slow down. It seemed as if EVERY commercial was a slam against another candidate, and just hate it! I prefer NOT to talk religion or politics, and people tend to be very passionate - one way or another! THX for posting Aaron!

I still see many on ActiveRain, but especially Facebook post their opinions on politics.
