Jay’s Back Porch © 2007 Jay MertonThis morning as Boomer & I savor the coming weekend, enjoying our mugs of organically & shade-grown, fair-trade, Guatemalan-Roast coffee on my, yes my back porch, the temperature in Saint Paul is a delightfully cool 61ºF and the sky is clear. Boomer has the weekend off (as always), and since I march to the beat of my own drummer, so do I.

So how exactly do those of us not involved in the weekend-intensive RE field spend those marvelous 48 hours? Well—excluding our necessary chores—whatever we want!

Boomer has a drought/rain ravaged yard—with the recent rains the weeds have recovered well ahead of the grass—his hedge picked this past week to exhibit a spurt of growth, requiring trimming—a lot of trimming!

So when we have completed the maintenance, we will turn our attention to graphics. I made a commitment to yet another AR luminary to make a caricature for “Danger Bay” (NOTE: no link here). We also have more townspeople to draw, as there is a pending town meeting to discuss the pending “Sparrow Lake Tours” (NOTE: again—no link) operation setting up there.

If you are fortunate enough to have time off this weekend—how will you spend it? Do you set time aside for “you-time,” when you take the time for you (or for family)?

Moving on, I’ll bet based on our last several posts—you are expecting a link. There is none. We HAVE, however, established a link—right there, just to the right of this post, that will bring you directly to the Danger Bay posts where you may see ‘em all (and if you didn’t stop yesterday—there is a new post there). It is at the top of our links, titled, oddly enough, Danger Bay Stories.

I think I'm heading to the Coconut Point Mall this weekend.  I am the only chic that hates malls, but I'm going because there is a boat show.  Which means there are probably going to be funnel cakes.  LOL I'm going to the mall for a funnel cake.  There is a God and on the 9th day he created funnel cakes.

We had a storm come up yesterday.  Got very dark out and the wind was fierce.  Then the rain came down.

For a bout 20 seconds.

Hi Boys! Ohh Hedge Trimming... I did some wicked ivy cutting last weekend at the new house, with a very sharp knife, fighting bugs all the way. The ivy had some beautiful red flowers but some nasty bugs, and it was  taking over one side of our house from the neighbors house. Yuck! Tomorrow I'll be getting out my new Troy Built lawn mower w/it's Briggs and Stratton engine and front wheel drive to do the lawn (at about 8am)

I don't like malls either Chris!

Looking forward to more Danger Bay!

I'm fortunate  that at this stage of my career I don't work weekends.  I usually do projects though and lots of blogging. This weekend is my "flickr project" weekend.  I really need to get my photos organized and learn to play there.  I also need to catch up with my blogger friends here on AR.  I haven't been commenting as much as I like.  I feel it is important to give back to the community where I've learned so much.

Al: My computer doesn’t have nearly enough memory to draw ALL my wrinkles!

Janie: Thank you!

Nancy: For all you mall-hat4ers—we have the massive (and growing) Mall of America! Biggest mall in the US, and soon, perhaps, the world.

Pamela: Really? We’re addictive? The MIND boggles! Thanks.

Lysa: Boomer got his yard work done—he took off half a day. Big rains expected tomorrow.

Linda: Always delighted when you stop by. This community is where I became a bloggist! Now Boomer has joined me and is learning the craft.

Jay, I look forward to seeing the new graphics of the towns people.  As far as for this weekend I have to meet with a Borrower tomorrow and then go visit a friend in the hospital.  I will be stopping by my usual 3 Open Houses on Sunday after Church, and spending time with my family.

George: When I was still self-employed with my handyman business, my weekends were very similar...work on a jobfor part of the weekend, but reserve time on Sundays for family.

Ines: Your Cyber-self will remain chillin' in Danger Bay.
