As promised in my earlier blog, effective Canada Day 2010, I had selected a few local charities for the purpose of giving back to the community through my real estate business, allowing my Buyers and Sellers to feel more a part of the town. For each closed transaction I decided to provide $150 broken down as follows:
The first $50 to the local charity of my choice and
the second $100.00 being chosen by my clients.
Today I was proud to provide $300.00 to our local Gananoque and District Humane Society. Two of my transactions have closed this month here in the town of Gananoque and I am proud to say my new First Time Buyer on Wellington St, and my Seller on Arthur St, chose the Humane Society to receive $100 each on their behalf. I chose to provide the Gananoque and District Shelter with my portion too.
I know that it costs $300 per day to operate the shelter so I was pleased to help. Can't wait for more closings to give back more to our community. If you feel inspired to do something similar, please let me know - it is one more way of paying it forward!
Shown getting her belly rubbed is Sandy, an English Springer Spaniel who was retired from breeding and given a new forever home.
I think she appreciates the donation almost as much as getting her belly rubbed! Who will benefit from the next closed transaction? I know but you will have to stay tuned!
