Mid-Year Checkup: Has AR Helped Your Real Estate Business?

End of July... already! The older I get, the faster the years go by. Can it be true that we are already halfway through 2010?

After all of the fireworks and Independence Day celebrating, and despite the sizzling temperatures and still lazy-hazy days, there's no denying the glaring truth - summer was here and now it's half gone. Which means 2010 is half over, too.

This realization prompted me to look back over the first 2 quarters and see how my actual real estate accomplishments measured up against my 2010 New Year's projections. Not a bad year so far. Maybe not as spectacular as I'd hoped, but truly not bad.

Mid-year is actually a good time to take a minute and do a quick assessment of where you are now and where you want to be at the end of the year. Then, tweak your real estate business and markteting plans to get you from here to there.

I found that I did a few things right in the first half of 2010 as a direct result of my ActiveRain membership:  I learned (from other members) how to have more fun with my blogs and make them visually interesting, for one thing. And I discovered realbird.com right here, too. Consequently, the quality and number of my AR blog posts have increased, and resulted in some pretty good google juice.(I now rank pretty high for Ellenwood short sales specialists.) Not to mention that my AR points are climbing.

What I see looking back is that I'm not that far off from the goals I set in January. And with a little tweaking of the plan based on the first 6 months' results, I stand a pretty good chance of meeting my projections this year.

How about you? Have you made good progress on your goals for this year? Have you discovered tools or techniques here in "The Rain" that have helped your business? I'd like to hear about your successes.

Congrats Elva, wishing you all the best for the 2nd half. Good planning followed by great execution is a great startegy to move towards goals.
