Do you ever feel like you’re stuck in a rut? Everyday it’s the same old routine. Or perhaps you’re stuck in a rut of chaos because you don’t have a routine. Whatever the cause of your “rut”, if you’re like me, it leaves you feeling stressed, frustrated, worn out, and just plain blah.
So what do we do about it? How do we get out of our rut? The way out can be unique to each individual just as the reasons we got stuck there in the first place. But for me, I finally realized that no one else could take that first step for me. Unfortunately, it took me a year to figure that out. But once I knew that, it was like the sunshine after weeks of cloudy days and rain. I always say I’m like a plant – lack of sunshine makes me wilt. But when the sun comes out, so do I! Almost immediately I start to perk up and feel more energetic.
Stacie is getting her groove back! You know the saying, “If you fail to plan then you plan to fail”. It’s like going on a trip to somewhere you’ve never been before. You need a map to tell you how to get there. Without a planned route you might end up going in circles (i.e. the rut). So the first thing I did was to start “mapping” out a plan to get out of my rut:
1. Dust off my day planner and use it! It’s easier to get things done and feel good about it when you’ve set aside time to do them.
2. Schedule R&R time for myself. We all need time to rest, reflect, and renew. It goes a long way in helping us to maintain all aspects of our health. Do you think healthier people live happier lives?
3. Move my business to ReMax Preferred Partners! This was the biggest step by far, and it has also been the most rewarding one. The value they place on providing excellent customer service is second to none. They care a great deal about training their agents to be true professionals. And they also see the importance of giving back to the community. Everyone in our office willingly gives a portion of their income to the Children’s Miracle Network. Other charities we support are Susan G. Komen Foundation, Relay for Life, and Animal Rescue and Relief Foundation just to name a few.
Yep, the sun is finally shining again!
