RainCamp Boston was one of the best investments of my time in a long time! As a relative newcomer to AR, I have been "getting my feet wet" blogging on Active Rain, but not seeing the "google juice" everyone has been telling me about. Well, in less than the first hour, I already had a list of tips to help change that! RainCamp Boston was packed full of information that I can put to use right away! Not a minute wasted!
This was about more than a few new ideas for me. It was about SURVIVAL in a difficult market and getting the tools I need to implement new strategies.
Top Tips from RainCamp Boston
- The Long Tail - how to use the long tail keyword to write posts and increase your Google rankings. Don't use your keyword enough and you won't rank up, and stuffing your post with too many instances of your keyword and the web crawlers will treat you like canned Spam...
- Adding one-way links from my posts to my website will rank me up in Google AND bring me leads. A win-win if I've ever seen one!
- The Google WonderWheel - What a cool tool to see what range of terms are used when people are searching on Google.
- Adding social icons to all posts and e-mail to let people know ALL the ways they can find me in this social media age.
- Wow! I didn't realize that print advertising is now only listed as 3% of all sales. RainCamp Boston has just saved me a ton more money with this tip!
- How to Create a Facebook Fan Page or Community page and make it work for you by creating opportunities for INTERACTION. Do it wrong and Facebook can take it over; do it right and the page can work for you.
- How to use Facebook ads affordably and effectively. I'll be saving some more money here too!
- Active Rain University has daily webinars to teach the ins and outs of AR, how to blog effectively, and even get your post reviewed before you post it-all for free if you're a Rainmaker.
- How to use Twitter and Geochirp as part of your social prospecting.
- There are applications and websites that do almost ANYTHING for you: Klout.com, namechk.com, and many more...but my all time favorite for a good laugh: www.runpee.com
If you have an opportunity to attend RainCamp in your area, by all means, GO! I can't imagine ANYONE not getting a great return on investment for their time. I am so glad that I made up my mind to attend RainCamp Boston. Thank you AR, Ben Kinney, and the rest of the AR staff for RainCamp Boston!!
