Happy (Belated) Birthday to Kay Van Kampen!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

&%@# years ago on July 28th, a woman named Mildred gave birth to a baby girl and said:

"I'll call her Rebecca Kay"

And so the legend began.......

Yesterday was Mom's birthday. I'm embarrassed to admit that I didn't remember it until about 2:30 in the afternoon while at the Board of REALTORS® buying new lockboxes. I was writing out my check and asked the staff member, "What's today's date?" When she told me, it hit me.....TODAY IS MY MOM'S BIRTHDAY! They laughed and said, "Well....she's Kay Van Kampen....just tell her you tried and tried to call and couldn't get through." LOL

So.....SORRY MOM! And I'm really sorry your day was spent with unwanted, long-lost, out-of-state family members crashing your home, obnoxious hard-to-please clients storming the office and making unrealistic demands on you, and for the absolutely pathetic old-lady flower bouquet my boyfriend felt was appropriate to give you (hey, he tried).

If it helps....WE LOVE YOU!!!!!! And you really are the "Royal Highness, Ruler of the Universe and the Realm Beyond to All Your Loyal Subjects."

Lina - Happy Belated Birthday to your mom! As much as this business is about "the date" I often don't know what it is. Thankfully there are automatic notifications to keep me on top of things.

It is crazy the things in life that get in the way of personal time with family. I was talking to my wife a couple days ago and BAMM it is WAS my Mom's Bday the other day. She is no longer with us but it is still an important day on my mind. As a matter of fact I missed my cousins. See what blogging does for us?
