Share some Sugar, Baby

This is a concept that our nation has let slip away from everyday life, borrowing instead of buying. If my mother needed two eggs for a recipe, she would go to one of our friendly neighbors and borrow the eggs. Are you ready for this, we didn't have a car growing up. My mom and I would walk the long trek to the grocery store and take a taxi home on the big shopping trips. I pulled a wire shopping cart home on small runs. These kind neighbors saved me a lot of sneaker soles.

This website is built on that old tradition of community, fellowship and kindness.

It's a beautiful thing.... www.sharesomesugar.com

Suzanne, it sounds a bit utopian and I'm not saying that's a bad idea. Wouldn't it be kind of cool if there was only one lawn tractor or mower per subdivision block or street to be passed along?..I think Henry David Thoreau would be up for it. I really do remember those days when you could borrow from the neighbor.
