As a result of steady economic success in Augusta, Georgia, the Augusta Commission has kept the net millage rate unchanged in 2007, 2008 and 2009 and is pleased to announce that there will be a tax rollback in 2010.
Quotes Mayor Deke Copenhaver, “During these difficult economic times, our ability to slightly rollback taxes is a true testament to the overall fiscal health of our city. By holding the millage rate steady for the past three years, it is indeed a blessing to be able to put into effect a tax rollback in 2010. I applaud the efforts of our current commission in doing so and would like to personally thank our staff who works diligently to ensure the sound fiscal management of our city on a daily basis.”
Hopefully this means that we will see a lower Mortgage payment for our Augusta home owners.
