DON'T MISS THE FIRST EVER OYSTER BAY FARMERS' MARKET

The Oyster Bay Main Street Association (OBMSA) has organized a farmers' market to be held starting this Friday, July 30 and then every Friday, from 12 Noon to 6:00 PM through the fall, at the Audrey Avenue extension located north of the Oyster Bay Post Office on Audrey Ave., Oyster Bay.  According to OBMSA, the development of a regular farmers' market in Oyster Bay came about after the "unbelievable response from the community", following the farmers' market on June 12th during the 48 x 48 x 48 project under the auspices of the planning group DoTank: Brooklyn.

Improvement that were made to the Audrey Avenue extension during the 48 hours were supposed to inspire plans and actions for the 48 months and are intended to ultimately help to promote sustainable design and lasting change over the next 48 years. OBMSA is adding one more 48 to the mix by bringing one suggestion to fruition within 48 days of the initial experiment - the first ever Oyster Bay Farmers' Market.

Do come and celebrate the splendors of summer with fresh fruits, vegetables, cheeses and other delicacies at the "first ever" Farmer's Market in historic downtown Oyster Bay.  The Oyster Bay Farmers' Market will host an array of local growers, artists, bakers and soap makers.  Market items include: MeCox Dairy Artisanal Cheese, Horman's Pickles. Urban Oasis Organic Smoothies, local shellfish, fresh baked goods, all-natural dog treats, fashionable handmade fabric bags, Soaps by Susan. organic tomatoes, raw honey and more.  The Centro Cultural Hispano de Oyster Bay will be selling homemade guacamole, empanadas and pupusas. All market goods are grown or made locally!

Vick - My area is truly one of the wealthiest areas in the country but not as glitzy as the Hamptons.  People around here wants to keep it that way which is great.  Nice to know you're from around here.
