Palm/Hibiscus Island Park Re-Opened!
"I am pleased to inform you that the Palm Island Park will be re-opened, Tuesday, August 14th!
As you know the Park has been closed for the last few months for major renovation and additions, including: 2 new shade structures, new play equipment, a new swing set, new ground cover (replacing the old sand lot), the reconditioning and painting of the 3 Tennis Courts and the Basketball Court, including new netting at each, new and improved drainage for the area to prevent flooding and new landscaping. Most of the landscape and some other minor improvements will be coming shortly, but will not interfere with the play area and its use.
Special Thanks to our Palm Island Park Committee headed by Helen Mopsick, Laura Gould and Stephanie Rosen, the many interested residents who participated in the fundraising campaign to help pay for the improvements and to the City of Miami Beach Parks & Recreation Department.
A Special "Re-Opening/Ribbon Cutting Ceremony" will be held sometime in September after everyone has returned from vacations, trips, etc. Thanks and enjoy the Park."
