New MA Oil Heat Law - July 1st

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty Boston NW

New Oil Heat Law took Effect July 1st, 2010.  A new law designed to address oil leaks from home heating systems is scheduled to take effect on July 1, 2010. Under the new rules, property owners will be required to upgrade their home heating system equipment to prevent leaks from tanks and pipes that connect to a furnace by installing either an oil safety valve or an oil supply line with a protective sleeve on systems that do not currently have these devices. More info is available online from Mass. DEP

I hope you found this helpful. Sellers may want to consider a pre-inspection of mechanical systems in the home before putting your home on the market.
