I just received an email with this information:
"On Sunday, July 18, your team and 25,000 other caring individuals raised an incredible $3,031,551 at the 24th Annual AIDS Walk San Francisco.
This outstanding total will help San Francisco AIDS Foundation and 59 other Bay Area AIDS service organizations continue working to end AIDS in our community. Thank you so much for being a Team Leader! We are extremely grateful for your participation and support."
That is a lot of money which helps support very good local organizations that provide education and support for our local communities. If you went on the AIDS Walk in your area, I'd love to hear how many walkers you had and how much was raised.
If you've never been on the AIDS Walk before, you should really try to go next year. It's not only a good way to show your support, but it is also a lot of fun! The walk is only 6.2 miles, in San Francisco it is in Golden Gate Park. There is a wall to sign, quilts to look at, and they even had belly dancers at one point in the walk.
I'm happy to have helped in my small way to support the work they are doing at the San Francisco AIDS Foundation!
(ps. it's never too late to make a donation!)
