Speechless Sunday: Lavender Fields

By

In Sequim, in Washington state's Dungeness Valley, the main crop is my favorite plant, lavender.  I took this photo at the Purple Haze Lavender Farm just outside of the utterly charming town of Sequim.  There are twelve acres of lavender, (organic, of course), and the place smells just heavenly!  The gift shop sells all things lavender, including soaps, oils, and even salad dressing!

And if you are planning a vacation, they also have rentals available that look like they'd be great fun!

Oh, and they also have those monster crabs that taste amazing!

Patricia, how wonderful that you live near this beautiful area.  I truly love the look and the smell of lavender.  I have a whole little basket of lavender soaps in my bath area and it freshens up the whole room.

Patricia- I love lavender too and would love to be able to look out my window every morning and see a field of lavender.  (It's also one of my favorite colors.)

I just worked on a photo shoot on a gorgeous lavender farm in our area.  The smell was amazing, and the owner the neatest person I've met in a long time.  Did you know lavender water helps sunburn and is a natural insect repellent?

Pat:  My wife would love to visit this place.  Lavender smells so soothing to her.  She'd be like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz .. just wanting to lay down in the poppies.  Beautiful photo ..

Hi Pat!
Wow...that is absolutely stunning! A client bought me lavendar soap once and it took me several baths to figure out that the little brown things floating in my bath was lavendar from the soap!

Reminds me of the time my son and I spent cycling in France.  Fields of Lavender.  Just wanted to lay down and roll around in the wonderful smells.
