August's First Friday Artwalk in Downtown Vancouver is the biggest and best yet! You won't want to miss this two day event! Start your Artwalk at the Reception hosted by West Coast Bank. Then tour the galleries as the artists spill out onto the streets! Visit our retailers, restaurants, coffee shops and bars. You'll find several stages set-up on the streets and in our businesses - listen and enjoy live music! Then starting at 8:15 PM on Friday - Hit Explosion will be playing live on the Main Stage in Turtle Place (www.hitexplosion.com) which is located at the corners of 7th and Main Streets. First Friday Artwalk - FESTIVAL!! Date: Friday, August 6th from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and later.... There are 13 galleries in Downtown Vancouver, each gallery will have artists set up outside along the sidewalk and in the streets. You will have a chance to buy lots of great artwork in a wide variety of styles and mediums and talk directly with the artists! Many of the artists and galleries will be offering special one weekend only festival pricing on their work. Cost: Free
Hit Explosion Plays Live on the Main Stage at Turtle Place Date: Friday August 6th starting at 8:00 PM Where: Turtle Place at the corner of 7th Street and Main Street Cost: Free
Saturday - Art in the Heart Festival day two Date: Saturday, August 7th from 10 AM to 4 PM This day is all about the Art. The galleries will be open with artists on site demonstrating and selling art at discounted Festival Prices. Cost: Free
"Not Your Mother's Fashion Show" An edgy, artsy, funky, and fun fashion show featuring the hottest local designers and retailers, including Project Runway winner SethAaron Henderson! Advance tickets can be purchased online at www.sixthstreetgallery.com.
"Who Does She Think She Is?" Encore screening of the documentary exploring the balance between motherhood and an artistic career. Advance tickets available at www.sixthstreetgallery.com.
Street Vendors and Beer Garden Date: Friday August 6th Starting at 5:00 PM There will be many Vendors to take in including face painting, ice cream, wood fired pizza, desserts and more! And there will be a Beer Garden at Turtle Place! Stop in.
