Froyo is officially available for upgrading Android 2.1 to 2.2!

I have been noticing the "buzz" on Android's newest operating system named "FROYO".  I check this AM and my system said it didn't have any upgrades available.  However, thanks to this link:

I was able to follow their instruction on turning on the WIFI and for some reason it found the update as available for my HTC EVO so I successfully upgraded my system to 2.2!

Here is Sprints Official List of Improvements:

  • Ability to share applications
  • Display events and birthdays from Facebook on Calendar
  • Use camera LED as flashlight
  • New user interface for the FM radio
  • Add unknown users in Facebook as friends in Friend Stream
  • Photo Gallery supports Facebook comments function
  • Send contact as vCard using SMS
  • Addition of MMS slideshow editor
  • New pre-loaded widgets including Calculator, FM radio, Message list view, Profile settings and Ringtone settings
  • Camcorder can use camera flash so video can be shot at night or in low light
  • Flash 10.1 support
  • Numeric PIN and alpha-numeric passwords to unlock screen
  • Search widget and search bar able to switch to search in different types (web, specific application, or all)
  • Adjustable alarm volume
  • Android Market widget allows installation of applications on SD card

    • I am so impressed with their phones and plans that I became a reseller for Sprint.  If you want to take advantage of this program with the NAR rate plans let me know and I will compare rate plans.  Sometimes as a business level account, I can even assist with early termination fees, etc.!

    Yea, these are great features, also there is a tethering on stock from 2.2 I believe, I'm still not on Froyo as you can read my other posts I'm using a T-mobile mytouch 3g slide I got it two months ago and still they have not updated this 2.1 to 2.2, but anyway, I enjoy at the best this great tool for my real estate needs. thanks for sharing !

    Didn't see this post earlier.  Finally got 2.2.  The biggee for me is using the bluetooth to initiate calls.

    Not sure what I think of the latest update yet. It seems to have put a bunch of apps on my home screen that I don't want, and there's no way to get rid of them.
