Last night I caught part of the new Tony Robbins' television show "Breakthrough" which displayed a once affluent couple who is now going through a financial crisis. How did he help them? He made them homeless for a week. They slept on the streets and at a mission in Los Angeles.
In watching, it made me appreciate my job even more than I do. After many years as a home health nurse I got into real estate and I have never looked back.
I love how in this job I never know what the day will bring. I start each morning with a "to do" list and sometimes I get through it. On other days getting to the office is the only thing on the list that gets accomplished.
Yesterday was a good example. Got to the office knowing I had a couple of hours to follow up on leads and work on pending contracts before meeting a buyer. That was planned. Before the day was over I ended up showing property to another existing client, meeting a couple for pre-listing appointment and finally just as I thought the day was over I got a call at 7:30 pm to show one of my listings.
Whew, what a day! And I loved every minute of it. I'm thankful for the business I have, for being my own boss and especially for not living on the streets of LA.
