My own boss and I love it !

By
Real Estate Agent with Murney Associates

Last night I caught part of the new Tony Robbins' television show "Breakthrough" which displayed a once affluent couple who is now going through a financial crisis. How did he help them? He made them homeless for a week. They slept on the streets and at a mission in Los Angeles.

In watching, it made me appreciate my job even more than I do. After many years as a home health nurse I got into real estate and I have never looked back.

I love how in this job I never know what the day will bring. I start each morning with a "to do" list and sometimes I get through it. On other days getting to the office is the only thing on the list that gets accomplished.

Yesterday was a good example. Got to the office knowing I had a couple of hours to follow up on leads and work on pending contracts before meeting a buyer. That was planned. Before the day was over I ended up showing property to another existing client, meeting a couple for pre-listing appointment and finally just as I thought the day was over I got a call at 7:30 pm to show one of my listings.

Whew, what a day! And I loved every minute of it. I'm thankful for the business I have, for being my own boss and especially for not living on the streets of LA.

True.

Sometimes you have to be reminded of the relativity of things before you think that your life sucks.

It is the old "The cup is half full" and not "half empty".   Sometimes we forget that we are given only what we can handle.  I watched the show too and it also reminded me to be thankful.   Thanks for the post.

Hey Billi ,that old adage comes true all the time..try everything at least once and those things you like stay with...someone always needs a place to stay..so Realtors will be around for a while..

My wife reminded me about a week ago when I said all 7 of my deals were a challenge. She said focus on the "all 7" and the rest will work itself out. Sometimes we get so busy looking for fleas the dog bites us.
