World Golf Hall of Fame News
A lot is going on at The Hall of Fame.
· The 2011 World Golf Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place Monday, May 9at the World Golf Village. That Monday marks the first day of THE PLAYERS Championship week. PGA TOUR and International Ballots for the Class of 2011 were released to respective voting bodies in early June. Voting results will be announced later this year.
· Earlier this month, Paul Goydosachieved a feat not many have or will ever claim. Goydos shot a 59 duringthe first round of John Deere Classic, a score only recorded by three other individuals in PGA TOUR history. The hat, shirt and pants Goydos wore during his phenomenal round of 59 are now on display at the Hall of Fame as well as the ball he used to make history.
· Johnny Miller is featured in a new display showcasing various items from his historic 1973 U.S Open victoryincluding his winner's medal as well as the irons, woods, driver, putter and MacGregor golf bag he used in the championship. Miller's final-round 63 at the 1973 U.S. Open was the lowest in major championship history and it remains the lowest final-round score in U.S. Open history. Further highlighting that achievement is Miller's glove and ball, both autographed and inscribed with the event and final score.
· Guests to the Hall of Fame can enhance their experience with a new All Access Tour. This two-and-a-half-hour, behind-the-scenes tour provides golf's most devoted fans with a unique opportunity to experience the game like never before. The tour is available by reservation only.
