What exactly are buyers and sellers seeking these days ?
‘Nordstrom service, Disney innovation and KMart prices'
that's what I read consumers want the other day ...hmm, does it have a lot to do with the so called 'me' generation or something else?
Now this statement can be true for not just real estate but anything that involves buying /selling in life …and truthfully the so called experts say that most decisions of this nature are irrational. Really? Truth be told in real estate the client can be somewhat irrational in their decisions (I tend to pop someone ever so lightly on the side of the head & say what are you thinking).
With buyers do you offer the diligence of finding the right deal or recommending the right inspectors to suggest to the buyer to ensure no inspection issue is left unturned...
With sellers do you give the most honest advice and sound knowledge by knowing their market in pricing their home to sell.. That's why they hire you didn't they- they want the truth. Why have the burden of being untruthful to a client or in one's life? Burdens pile up like cow dung.
But also it gets down to what is on the agent's mind too these days. So look at your play script or real estate cookbook and be mindful of your buyers and sellers. It's called adapting to the environment at hand...
And I believe most importantly - that one must be a true artisan in negotiating the deal. You develop a 'style' that works & plays well in different scenarios. You build your reputation on it in many instances. I've seen it with many agents ( some deny it because they can't see themselves from the outside in). Yes, sometimes it may be like playing poker but it can be worth it. You need to have that Disney innovation in the deal don't you.
What are you seeking from buyers and sellers these days and what are you delivering?
Don’t promise the KMART price deals but do deliver the customers Nordstrom service. And work on that Disney innovation stuff too.
