Hot Weather can mean a Hot Deal (seriously)

It's a million degrees again here in Fairfield, CT    Real Estate seems to be the last thing on people's minds... which means SOMEBODY out there can get him or herself a fantastic deal.

I rarely tout a "buyer's market" or "seller's market"  but I can tell you that there is a large group of Sellers in Fairfield that are simply beaten down this summer. After a promising Spring, business has fallen off the last few weeks, and I feel like I am the only person in Fairfield Real Estate that is not on vacation.

Maybe I should just give up and go to the Cape for a week.

But I keep thinking about my frustrated sellers who have endured record high heat and humidity, while dealing with record low buyer turnout and showings. They just want to sell the damn house.

And now I see that mortgage rates hit another record low today - and I am wondering where are the smart buyers who can obtain extraordinary Buying Power .... and buy the home of their dreams which was out of reach just a few short years ago....

If the phone doesn't ring today, it's off to the Cape!

Good point....it really is ashame that event the weather is having a negative impact on our industry.  Makes you wonder "what next", agents touting they can do our job at discounted rates and provide full service?

I'm with you looking for those buyers who are ready to buy--they have more options and lots of motivated sellers to choose from.  And since I'm not heading to the Cape this week either, I'd be glad to have them give me a call so we can go find them that sweet house at a sweet price!

And by the way, Brian, feel free to give me a call for any referrals in the northern CT area..

It's also a million degrees down here in sunny Phoenix AZ. I have been out with one couple every day for the last 4 days--8 hours a day in 115* and 75% humidity (It's not always a dry heat!). Since most houses are bank owned, there is no water or air conditioning on, so the houses are like convection ovens. Take lots of water, stop often in air conditioned Starbucks for drinks and bathrooms, wear sunscreen, & get an early start. My buyers are ready to sign on a $700K house, so all the sweating is worth it!
