Here are a few prospecting ideas that had got emailed to me awhile back and I have benefited from them.
**Coordinate a community garage sale. The participating home owners can e-mail you their contact information, and you can provide the county permit, garage sale maps, signs, and a ad in the paper. The whole event cost are very low. On the day of the event, stand in front of the community handing out maps, make it a goal to meet every home owner face to face. Often, people have a garage sale when they're preparing to sell their home, so it makes for the perfect opportunity to further your brand, build your data base, and flush out the listing leads.
**One of the best thing I have done for my business is to get involved and stay involved in a networking group. I had actually started my own and we meet at a cofee shop and exchange business ideas and refer people out to each other. That away you personally know everyone and are more confident that your clients will be taken care of.
**Do good deeds like, hold a food drive to benefit your local food bank. Make sure you call everyone you know and tell them that you are helping out the community with a food drinve. Then call again to schedule a donation pick-up if they want to participate. You can have great conversations with clients and people on your mailing listor SOI who hadn't yet used your services. If people see that you are actively involved in the community they will probably thank you by using your services. You can benefit a great cause and get business, so in turn you have done more than one good deed just by doing one simple inexpensive thing.
**Sometimes when you go through a fast-food restaurant drive through, pay for the car behind you and ask the cashier to give them your business card and tell them to have a great day. One realtor said "I love to look in my rear view mirror at their shocked expression as I pull away! It puts a smile on my face and on theirs, too." In return they feel confident that if they need your service they will gladly use you.
