OPERATION YMCA BACKPACK!

OPERATION YMCA BACKPACK!  All of the Houston area YMCA's are having their annual backpack drive! As the new school year approaches, the need for school supplies is very great!  This is a fantastic program that provides thousands of children with much needed supplies to help them get a great start with the new school year.

Visit the YMCA Operation Backpack website for information on how you can donate and where to drop off backpacks.

Here are some easy guidelines if you would like to donate or to volunteer:

• Purchase a new backpack. Go to your local retail store and purchase a new backpack for an elementary or middle school aged child.
• Buy school supplies and put them in the backpack. A list of recommended school supplies
• Write a note of encouragement to the child and place it in the backpack. Drop off the completed backpack.
• Return backpacks to your local YMCA between the dates of July 11th - August 15th.
