Draw Inspections, New Construction, Bellingham, WA

By
Home Inspector with King of the House Home Inspection, Inc. Home Inspector Lic #207

When I first began in this profession, I used to supplement my income by performing some draw, or progress, inspections for banks. That was back when more new construction was taking place.

Since that time, for the most part, I have gotten too busy to spend much time doing the lower cost draw inspections. However, there is a company that I did some contract work with for years so, if I can, I try to fit in a job or two for them on occasion.

With draw inspections they call you in for the first inspection and, usually, you can watch the process from the first soil that is overturned right up to all the sticks being put up. Below is a photo of a house just outside Bellingham that, a month back, was a mound of dirt and some poured concrete.

Thanks for stopping by,

Steven.  What a fabulous photo.

I've sold a lot of new construction and much of it in MD was Const/to/Perm with inspections every step (draw) of the way.

It is the most adventurous real estate transaction.

Steven - That's why I love the building process. Watching the daily progress is both exhilarating and rewarding.

In my past (business) life, Steven, I worked in civil engineering. It was quite exciting to see the things that I designed/drafted built in the real world.

Howdy and evening to you Steven

Steven,
I do new construction phase inspections, very few of them today. You are right some of them can take a lot of time to do.

Have a good one

Draw inspections are still supplementing our incomes!  Even with the building industry a bit slower now.
