Got Oil ? Nope ! We've all seen that great ad campaign by the milk industry with a faceshot of a celeb and milk on the upper lip. It communicates so much with so few words ! It certainly reminds us to pick up some milk on the way home doesn't it ? One of my favorites is the Danica Patrick ad. Great job of combining a very recognizable celeb face and the trademark milk on the upper lip !

So what is my point ? Easy. Check out this darling little girl playing along the Gulf of Mexico shoreline on Fort Myers Beach !

Got Oil ?

There is no oil here and none within several hundred miles. The good folks at NOAA tell us there is less than a 1% chance of any oil coming to Fort Myers Beach ! That's great news for anyone planning a vacation here or considering buying property here ! Kayden let Grandma put some chocolate on her upper lip for the photo ! Everyone affected by the oil spill wants a speedy recovery. Our Southwest Florida area has felt the effects of the spill with many rental cancellations and even potential buyers who thought our pristine beaches were covered with oil ! Hard to believe but frustrating to have so many people not visit our island due to a common misunderstanding. There is no oil here and none is expected. Hi, Bill! I just returned last night from a great vacation at Ft. Walton Beach, FL. We specifically went to the Gulf states for two weeks (LA, MS, FL and AL) because all we could do to help was take our 2010 vacation money and spend it down there. The water was crystal clear, filled with fish and delightful. Thanks for posting this reminder. We'll be back!

Hi Bill, you are kind in phrasing "to have so many people not visit our island due to a common misunderstanding" IMO. Isn't it amazing the power and influence of the media??? Can be very disheartening like it is in this case. So hard and/or expensive to counter-act when necessary.

Hi Shannon, Our beaches are clean and there is no sign of oil - period ! My heart goes out to those affected by the spill but lets not creat a problem where none exists !
