The Massachusetts Great Places List was created by The Great Places in Massachusetts Commission, created by the legislature, and signed into law by Governor Deval Patrick in January of 2009. The list includes the following Dorchester locations:

- First Parish Churh- 10 Parish St., Dorchester
- Neponset Greenway - Pope John Paul II Park, Dorchester
- Commonwealth Museum and Archives - 220 Morrisey Blvd., Dorchester MA
- Erie Pub - 795 Adams Street Dorchester
